Formulas

Legacy CT_ functions

The ten CT_ functions keep working, with the same arguments, results and messages. New fields, periods, dates and whole columns come only to COINTABLE. To move a spreadsheet, open the CoinTable panel and press Switch to COINTABLE. It rewrites the formulas so the numbers stay the same, and tells you how many cells changed. Nothing changes until you press it.

Legacy formulaSame with COINTABLE
=CT_PRICE("BTC")=COINTABLE("BTC")
=CT_PRICE("BTC", "EUR")=COINTABLE("BTC/EUR")
=CT_PRICE(A2, B1)=COINTABLE(A2&"/"&B1)
=CT_CHANGE("BTC")=COINTABLE("BTC", "changepct")
=CT_CHANGE("BTC", "USD", "7d")=COINTABLE("BTC", "changepct", "7d")
=CT_MARKETCAP("BTC")=COINTABLE("BTC", "marketcap")
=CT_VOLUME("BTC")=COINTABLE("BTC", "volume")
=CT_HIGH("BTC")=COINTABLE("BTC", "high")
=CT_LOW("BTC")=COINTABLE("BTC", "low")
=CT_RANK("BTC")=COINTABLE("BTC", "rank")
=CT_SUPPLY("BTC")=COINTABLE("BTC", "supply")
=CT_ATH("BTC")=COINTABLE("BTC", "ath")
=CT_ATHCHANGE("BTC")=COINTABLE("BTC", "athchangepct")
  • CT_CHANGE becomes "changepct", not "change". In COINTABLE, "change" is the change in money, as in GOOGLEFINANCE.
  • A CT_ formula and a COINTABLE formula for the same coin make the same lookup, so together they use one update.
  • One difference: CT_PRICE ignores a date. =CT_PRICE("BTC", "USD", DATE(2026,6,30)) shows today's price. COINTABLE shows the price on that date, on Plus. The panel lists such cells.
  • For CoinTable accounts created from Nov 1, 2026, the 7d, 30d and 1y periods of CT_CHANGE are part of Plus, as in COINTABLE.

See COINTABLE for every attribute, period and error message.
